Presented in 1988, Italia began the collaboration with Antonio Citterio and brought professional aesthetics into the home, the characteristic handle, a prevalence of steel, deep worktops, large cast-iron hobs, double sinks and the iconic double-island layout.

Where it began
Italia marked the start of Arclinea's contemporary chapter: professional-kitchen functionality adapted for residential use, with suspended hoods and deep worktops. Over time it has evolved (refined details, better equipment, finer finishes) while holding to its original, honest vision of use.

Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio has been Arclinea's art director and designer since 1988, when the Italia model began a collaboration that reshaped the domestic kitchen around the rigour and function of the professional one. His work for the maison is defined by restraint, engineering precision, and materials chosen to be used and to last.
